PRERANA: An Experiential Learning Program

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, had launched a groundbreaking initiative known as ‘Prerana: An Experiential Learning Program,’ in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This initiative aims to cultivate leadership qualities in students through immersive and inspiring experiences. This week-long residential initiative for Class IX to XII students, held in Vadnagar, Gujarat, focuses on nine value-based themes and transcends traditional teaching, fostering holistic learning through innovative methods. Prerana aims to empower students beyond certification, envisioning them as change-makers carrying its ethos into communities.

Skills on Wheels buses initiative

Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, has launched the “Kaushal Rath,” a bus providing skills on wheels aimed at providing accessible and hands-on skill training across Odisha’s Sambalpur, Angul, and Deogarh districts. Led by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the initiative is designed to empower the youth with digital literacy, financial literacy, and other essential skills, aligning with the Skill India Mission.

Equipped with state-of-the-art tools and certified trainers, the Kaushal Rath will traverse multiple districts, delivering skill training in areas like Digital Literacy and Entrepreneurial Skills. The initiative is in collaboration with HP India, which has contributed IT vehicles to extend skill development opportunities to remote areas. The overarching goal is to bridge the skill gap, providing inclusive access to skill training and raising awareness about emerging skills in various domains. Launched under the guidance of Shri Om Birla, Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, and Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the initiative aims to prepare the youth for the evolving demands of the job market.

Development of Skills for Industry 4.0 at Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024

Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, attended the inaugural session on Building Workforces for Future: Development of Skills for Industry 4.0 at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024. Speaking at the event, he highlighted the significance of the summit as a platform for reflecting on the country’s developmental journey and setting national priorities. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for elevating India’s global standing and emphasized the role of the Gujarat model in guiding states’ skilling efforts. He underscored the importance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in aligning education and skills and highlighted India’s potential in leveraging Industry 4.0. Important Updates from MSDE and Sector Skill Councils

Launch of 928 PM SHRI Schools in Lucknow

Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, jointly launched PM SHRI Schools in Lucknow. The initiative aims to upgrade and modernize over 1000 schools in Uttar Pradesh, including 81 Kendriya/Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, aligning with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan applauded the efforts to enhance education infrastructure and emphasized the crucial role of Uttar Pradesh in realizing the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath outlined plans for improved infrastructure and holistic education in 1753 selected schools, integrating facilities like smart classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and sports amenities.

Logistics Sector Skill Council collaboration with Redington Limited

The successful inauguration of the Centre of Logistics Training for Excellence (COLTE) by Hon’ble Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between Redington Limited and the Logistics Sector Skill Council. COLTE, with its innovative and inclusive approach, is set to redefine logistics education in India.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced classrooms and labs, COLTE underscores a commitment to fostering learning and inspiring aspirations within the logistics sector. The primary objective is to address the gap between education and industry requirements, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the logistics sector. This collaborative effort reflects a dedication to excellence in logistics education and the development of a skilled workforce.

CGSSC – Expression Of Interest (EOI) For Training Partners in Short Term Training Project

The Capital Goods and Strategic Skill Council (CGSSC) invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from potential Training Partners for undertaking a Placement Linked Skill Development Training Program in Andhra Pradesh. This initiative, conducted for the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), aims to provide short-term skill development training to unemployed youth. The focus will be on various job roles aligned with CGSSC. The last date to apply is January 25th, 2024.

Automotive Skill Development Council partnership with BluSmart

BluSmart, an EV ride-hailing service, has signed an MoU with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to train 250 women in Delhi NCR. The collaboration aims to provide employment opportunities, focusing on gender diversity and inclusivity in the transportation sector. ASDC will conduct a 3-month comprehensive driver skills training program, and BluSmart will offer employment opportunities to trained women drivers, emphasizing inclusive practices in the automotive industry. The initiative seeks to equip women with the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and efficient driving while fostering a more diverse workforce in the EV sector.

GoMechanic partners with International Automobile Centre of Excellence (iACE)

GoMechanic, a prominent automotive service provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Automobile Centre of Excellence (iACE) to advance automotive skill development in India. iACE, a collaborative effort between the Government of Gujarat and Maruti Suzuki India Limited, is a premier automobile training center. This partnership aims to enhance the expertise of over 5000 service mechanics within GoMechanic’s extensive network, focusing on the latest automotive technologies, including Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (EVs). It aligns with the broader goal of the ‘Skill India’ initiative, cultivating skilled professionals and creating employment opportunities. The collaboration seeks to set new benchmarks in automotive skill development and shape the future of the industry, particularly in the EV sector.
