The 3-step learning process to blended learning in skill development

Blended learning in skill development has become an integral part of modern teaching and learning processes. Technology has played a big role in the three-step learning process: Concept-based learning, Design-based learning and Experiment-based learning. However, it is experiential, hands-on learning that tops them all.

The 3-step learning process to blended learning in skill development

The 3-step learning process to blended learning in skill development

Step 1 – Concept-based learning

Most of the classrooms and laboratories are well-equipped with IT infrastructure such as interactive smart boards, or touchscreen displays to deliver the first and foremost part of the modern teaching–learning process using animated content on different topics. This can be called concept-based learning. Structured course content with animations and activities engages students and makes difficult topics and their concepts easy to understand.

Step 2 – Design-based learning

The next step is design-based learning where many design tools are available to make standard designs using built–in standard libraries and simulate the design for different test conditions. This enables students to use different concepts they learned in to design and make them ready for the next step of learning.

Step 3 – Experiment-based learning

The third step is experiment-based learning doing validation through the real-time implementation of the designs and testing them for real-time test conditions. This process uses knowledge and skills learnt during concept-based and design-based learning.

You will appreciate that all the above three steps are equally important and have their own significance in the era of modern teaching and learning processes. If we follow these three steps in delivering the curriculum of any technology, it will help us churn out well-skilled professionals.

At Scientech Technologies Pvt. Ltd. we have designed and developed the complete solution for various modern subjects in emerging technologies and put a serious attempt to address all three steps of learning.

Concept-based: SimTel

It is a powerful tool which addresses the first step of learning. It offers interactive digital content with animation and videos that enable faculty or instructors to deliver the main points of various technologies in a simple, illustrative, and enjoyable manner.

Design-based: Tina Design Suite

This is an enriched tool with a big component library, and different simulation analyses to test circuits ( Analog – Digital – Embedded- IoT – VHDL) for different test conditions.  Tina also covers the very popular IDE Arduino and supports python programming.  It enables teachers to induct faults in circuits so that troubleshooting skills are also developed among students.

Experiment-based: TechBooks

Various handy and portable hardware development platforms on different technologies allow users to dabble in new technologies through hands-on work.

We conclude that to develop quality skilled manpower we should adopt the three-step learning process, blended learning.
